Dream It Out

I am Kezia Kamenetz and I live in New Orleans, LA. This blog is intended to be a place for me to reflect on the spiritual journey I am embarking on through intensive study of Archetypal Dreamwork.

What’s a ‘spiritual journey’?

-Good question. I felt weird writing that term but it actually seems to be the one I know that fits best. For the past month or so I have started to vividly feel as if there is a war going on for my real self, one that keeps challenging who I think I am and what I believe to be true about the world. I feel like I am traveling through an unknown terrain on what I know will probably be an endless quest, and yet I keep feeling like I am getting somewhere. What would you call it?

What’s “Archetypal Dreamwork”?

-Archetypal dreamwork is a method of counseling that was pioneered by my teacher Marc Bregman about 40 years ago. Since then it has spread and together with his wife Christa they created North of Eden Center in Eden, Vermont, where I am currently taking classes to become a practitioner of the work. You can learn much more about the practice on their website, here.

  1. Kezia–I think you have more than faith. You have the truth of your experience. That truth is built moment by moment. That’s why every experience is meaningful and echos with a a message for you. If you don’t get it, it boomerangs back again and again. You are trying to be there in the moment without reaction, in the depth of your feelings for whatever is happening. You can’t ask for more than that.

Thanks for your message. I was dropping into nihilism (again) today. Your post helped bring me out of that.
